Mr. Gene Lay, born and raised in rural Xihu, Miaoli, transformed from a small-town boy into a biotech pioneer, founding the world’s largest immunology reagent company. On October 30, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) awarded him an honorary Doctorate in Science, recognizing his remarkable achievements in biotechnology.

10月19日，鴻海科技集團董事長劉揚偉蒞臨國立陽明交通大學EMBA蘭成講座，以「經營新智慧－企業轉型與經營實務」為題，吸引超過200位企業管理者共聚一堂，探索鴻海轉型的深度思考與未來願景。
這場講座的創立，源於前交大校長張俊彥的願景，旨在紀念朱蘭成院士對台灣及人類的貢獻，並幫助台灣企業迎接轉型挑戰。劉揚偉作為今年講座的特邀演講者，從一開始便顯露出他的真誠——強調自己不僅是演講，而是來與大家分享人生智慧。
On October 19, Young Liu, Chairman of Hon Hai Technology Group, delivered a keynote at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) EMBA Lan Jen Lecture themed “New Wisdom in Business: Corporate Transformation and Management Practices.” His speech attracted over 200 corporate executives to discuss the critical insights and vision guiding Hon Hai’s transformation.
The Lan Jen Lecture, founded to honor the contributions of Academician Lan-Jen Chu, reflects the vision of former National Chiao Tung University President Chun-Yen Chang. It aims to inspire and support Taiwanese businesses as they navigate transformative challenges. Invited as this year’s distinguished speaker, Liu opened his address with a genuine approach, emphasizing that he was not simply presenting but rather sharing insights from his life journey.

NYCU Shines at Taiwan Innotech Expo with Wins 19 Awards for Innovation, Leading All Universities in Taiwan
2024台灣創新技術博覽會於10月17日至19日在台北世貿展覽館隆重登場。本屆「發明競賽區」中近 600 件專利參賽，國立陽明交通大學共推薦18件發明專利並斬獲19座獎項，包含1座鉑金、6座金牌、7座銀牌、3座銅牌，以及2項企業特別獎，成為全台大專院校之冠，展現學校卓越的研發實力。
National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) has set a new benchmark in technological innovation at the 2024 Taiwan Innotech Expo, securing 19 awards across various fields and leading all universities nationwide. Competing in the Expo’s prestigious “Invention Competition Area,” NYCU presented 18 cutting-edge patents, winning one Platinum, six Gold, seven Silver, three Bronze, and two Corporate Special Awards. This achievement underscores NYCU’s unparalleled research and development strength in Taiwan.
